This page describes what the BootUI documentation site collects, and how to change your mind at any time.

The BootUI console sends no analytics

BootUI is a local-only developer console. It runs inside your own application, rejects non-loopback requests by default, and never sends usage telemetry or analytics to BootUI or an analytics provider. It does collect local diagnostic evidence from your application: requests, SQL, logs, exceptions, traces, and optional agent sensor metadata. Masking reduces disclosure; it does not guarantee that all sensitive data is removed.

The default Java agent sensors never record file contents, process arguments, or environment values. The separate, startup opt-in bootui.agent.security-sinks.request-values=true can hold bounded query/path parameter values transiently in memory while requests run; reports redact those values. Method-probe shapes are separately opt-in and stay in the browser panel, never MCP or CLI answers.

Explicit actions can contact external services, such as dependency scans querying OSV.dev/FIRST and GitHub refreshes. Configured durable activity persistence and baseline files can save diagnostic metadata; heap capture saves a raw dump that may contain secrets, with raw download disabled by default. MCP and CLI expose evidence only when called, but a coding agent may send its answers to its model provider: a local endpoint does not mean local model processing. The analytics consent controls below apply only to this documentation website, not to the console.

Analytics on this website

This website can use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-92TRR0HJMQ) to count page views and understand which documentation pages are actually read.

  • Nothing is loaded until you accept. The Google Analytics script is not requested, and no analytics cookie is written, unless you choose "Accept" in the banner. Declining, or ignoring the banner, causes no analytics requests. Following an external link is a separate request to the linked site's operator.
  • What is stored if you accept: Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies, which hold a randomly generated identifier used to recognise a returning browser. Google receives your IP address, page URL, referrer, and basic device and browser information as the data processor for these measurements.
  • Retention: analytics data is retained according to the Google Analytics data-retention setting for this property, after which it is deleted by Google.
  • Legal basis: your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. You can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it, using the controls below.

Your answer to the banner is remembered in your browser's localStorage under jdubois-analytics-consent. That entry is shared across julien-dubois.com (this site, the main site and the sibling project sites), so one choice applies everywhere and changing it on one of them changes it on all. It is strictly necessary to honour your choice, is never sent anywhere, and is not used to identify you. If your browser refuses that storage, your answer is kept in memory for the current visit only and you are asked again next time.

Refusing here also deletes any Google Analytics cookies already present in this browser and stops further measurement immediately. Accepting again resumes measurement straight away, without reloading the page. You can additionally remove the site's data through your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Hosting

The site is served as static files from GitHub Pages. GitHub processes request metadata, including IP addresses, to deliver the pages and protect the service, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Under GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, object to processing, or lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. For any request relating to this site, open an issue on the BootUI repository or contact the maintainer through julien-dubois.com.
